I just heard the news that an updated version of TurningPoint ARS (4.2.3.xxx) will be released to the public very soon.
*** Update (sort of) 07/28 ***
Word is that Turning Technologies wanted to release the new version by the end of July. We’ll here we are at the end of July and no release yet. If I were a betting man, I’d say that it will be released sometime early next week (week of Aug. 2nd). I know that I was putting out a software update it wouldn’t be on a Friday. That is just a support nightmare waiting to happen.
Some of the additional features include:
- Support for Microsoft Office 2010
- Standards are now available through a web service
- Added a Difficulty and Discrimination Index Report
- Results by Question Report now includes information from the Priority Ranking slides
- New Export Schemes for Gradebook and ProgressBook
- User interface changes
Some of the bux fixes are:
- Possible resolution of the Office 2007 custom animation issues (This is the issue that I am looking forward to the most as Office 2007 seems to be becoming the industry standard.)
- Fastest Responder slide now displays correct participant
- Office 2007: When slides are set to auto advance and review only, running the presentation then resetting it no longer causes the chart and countdown timer animations to be reversed
- Title/Text boxes are now inserted in the position set by the Master Slide
Those are just the changes at a glance. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
